Windshield Wipers – Window Pane Replacement Review
It would appear that the metal brackets hold down better though.
Put in the wiper and close the bracket. I am not sure exactly what the benefit of these wipers is…save your valuable money and stick with traditional wipers.
I purchased these Bosch blades at the suggestion of a good car services store. I really like the bracketless style, and I can testify they survived a harsh New England winter season while not having to be babied. Time will tell just how long it lasts, until then it is performing perfectly. My cousin should have purchased a various “type/model” from Bosch, since the ones he purchased for me personally were outstanding.
Despite what Amazon’s fitment matching says, this can not work on the special window replacement Vancouver wipers for 2003 Audi A6 2.7T (noted in A6 user guide as “Type B”). I’d rather replace a budget ($5 each) blades every few months than these. I switched it with the passenger side and can see how long it’ll last for. The wiper maintains good contact over its entire length.
Aside from this rather severe defect the blades performed nicely. I truly should have switched for this sort of design sooner.
An example, on my small 17″ wiper they have 1″ shorter wiping area than these ones, on my small 24″ auto body Vancouver wiper it was about 1.5″ shorter than the other one. Both boxes they arrived would not weighed much more than the wiper blades. I place them onto my 1997 Honda Civic and my wife’s 2001 Honda Accord. My factory wipers on my small 2008 Civic SI had finally broken down so reading some reviews I settled on these wipers. Even at higher speeds they do not flutter or miss an area.
I discovered this performance advantage on window pane replacement well worth the extra cash, and I’ll certainly buy those again in fall. It had been very hard to bear. Try them out. The one thing great is the Amazon return policy. Haven’t tried them in heavy rain but I’m certain they are effective just fine. These contoured blades are meant to maintain connection with the windshield in snowy circumstances. I had been disappointed to determine that they’re produced in China. 100 F temperatures, gritty dust, and lots of direct sun often destroy them. There is no squeaking as it moves across our 2004 Volvo XC90. Set up super easy and the locking mechanism appears well designed and provides me confidence they will not be flying off! We had to replace after one year, excellent item!
By no means shall something other than Bosch run across my windows and Anderson window screens! After working over an hour or so trying to set up a so called “top of the line” window pane replacement that I purchased at Kragen, I threw in the towel and found amazon instead.
